Provide Your Business Premises Address
When you register for your Washington DC Asbestos Worker License, you must provide the physical street address of your business when you complete your Asbestos Worker License registration. You cannot list a PO box address—you must list the address of an actual, physical location.

Registered or Resident Agent Information
A registered agent is a third party entity appointed by the organizers or incorporators of a business to receive any legal correspondence on behalf of the company.
All individuals or legal business entities doing business in the District of Columbia must have a registered or resident agent.
If your business is located in Washington DC and registered with the DLCP Corporations Division, you must have a registered agent with a physical address in DC.

Provide a Statement of Approved Asbestos Disposal Site
To get your Asbestos Worker License in Washington DC, you must provide a notarized statement that informs the DLCP that you have access to an approved asbestos disposal site to deposit asbestos waste at. Submit a Letter Listing Names of Workers
You must also submit a cover letter that lists of the names of the asbestos workers who will be employed by the company.
Provide a License or Agreement to Haul Asbestos
Your company must have a license to transport asbestos or an agreement with a commercial company who is licensed to transport asbestos. When you submit the necessary documents to get your Asbestos Worker License in Washington DC, you must either provide a copy of your license to haul asbestos or a copy of the agreement between you/your company and the company licensed for asbestos transportation.
Certificate of Federal Compliance
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, commonly known as “OSHA,” requires asbestos abatement employees receive between 32-40 hours of employer-provided training. This training will cover topics such as work area preparation, establishing decontamination units, hands on exercises, and much more.

You are required to provide a copy of your business’ respiratory protection program. A respiratory protection program is a set of operating procedures that ensure that employees know how to use respirators, when to use them, and their limitations. Notice of Business Tax Registration
All legal business entities must register with Washington DC Office of Tax and Revenue. This can be easily completed online at the MyTax DC website. You will need to provide your Federal Employer Identification Number (or social security number).
For new businesses, you can complete the FR-500 New Business Registration. This form is a combined application for business taxes, fees, and assessments.
Clean Hands Self Certification
Before you can get your Asbestos Worker License, you are required to certify that you do not owe more than $100 to the District of Columbia Government. This certification does not require a specific form for submission—only a signature verifying that you have read and understood the requirements.
